The role of the Membership committee is to recruit and engage diverse community of individuals interested in advancing the principles of sustainable design, development, operation and maintenance across the built environment.

The Central Plains Chapter is a grassroots organization driven by our membership. We focus our efforts on improving the built environment to help create a better future for those around us and generations to come. Membership in one of the Central Plains Branches provides a means for advocating change and a way to meet people that can help you along the way.

The USGBC Central Plains Chapter wants to provide you with all the tools necessary to make a difference through both business and personal endeavors.  In an effort to ensure you are getting the most of your membership in our chapter, we strongly encourage you to get involved. There are a great number of ways to do this which are outlined within the New Member Packet including:

  • Sharing your skills with other green building advocates
  • Taking advantage of USGBC education and training resources
  • Networking with your fellow chapter members and the community in which we serve
  • Growing your leadership and management skills via participation in committees
  • Serving in the capacity of a chapter leader

The Central Plains Chapter puts a strong emphasis on networking as a means to achieve our mission and vision. We can continue to grow our network by showing a strong positive face to Kansas and Western Missouri, and striving to recruit new members that are interested in joining our team to make our vision a reality. If you feel that you know someone that would benefit from being a member of our chapter, please encourage them speak to one of our committee members.

It is the goal of the membership committee to ensure that our members feel that they are getting the most out of their investment in our chapter. If you have any suggestions on how we could improve your experience, please feel free to contact us.
