BUILDING THE HEARTLAND conference(formerly BuildingChicago/Greening the Heartland conference) will be held August 31- September 2 at the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza, Chicago's first LEED Gold hotel.
"We wanted to broaden the conference content to provide discussion of new technology, the residential market, and the needs of owners, developers, and occupants of buildings," says Robert Cassidy, the Conference chairman. "BUILDING THE HEARTLAND will still be about 50% 'green' in content, with sessions that cover environmental responsibility, sustainability, resiliency, and healthy building."
The 2015 BUILDING THE HEARTLAND program will feature five tracks: 1) Technology (e.g., BIM, robotics, field tools, 3D printing); 2) Owner/Developer/Occupant panels ("What they want from their Building Teams"); 3) Residential (single-family, condo, apartment), 4) High-Performance Buildings (LEED, Green Globes, Energy Star, Living Building Challenge), and 5) High-Performance Building Systems and Tools (e.g., energy modeling, biophilia, energy codes, materials, stormwater management).
In addition to leading keynote speakers and networking events, the 2015 BUILDING THE HEARTLAND also will feature an all-day LEED v4 workshop.
All education sessions will offer AIA CES or Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) accreditation-and, in most cases, both.
Proposals for education sessions are due February 6th. Visit the BUILDING THE HEARTLAND website to learn more and submit your proposals.
