The Board of Directors of Thank You Walt Disney, Inc. is overjoyed with the exciting proposals created through the Emerging Professionals' Design Competition, and extends a heartfelt "thank you" to the nine teams who participated and to the USGBC Chapter for organizing the effort.
Their next steps will be to re-evaluate their long-term business plan in relation to the winning design (and elements of all of the designs that they loved), with a goal to develop construction documents and the capital financing needed to rehabilitate the historic Laugh-O-Gram Studio for the 21st century! The competition created a wonderful array of solutions to their vision for the facility, and this will be a crucial step in securing the partnerships, donations, grants, and other resources needed to make their wish to create a celebrated facility for learning and entertainment come true.
